error in the installation SAP NW 2004s java edition

Hi,

I am trying to install the SAP NW JE 5, on Win XP SP2. I have created an MS loop back adapter

When i am trying to install...it is going upto 14 % and throwing a error

I think it is becos of the wrong verson of the getInstalledReleasesWin()....

i had tried with the JRE 1.4 /1,5 and even with out the JRE Installation ,it goes up to 14 % and fails and throws the above error..

can any one help me to solve this issue...?????

Hi

check whtr latest avaiable OS service pack is applied or not.

try installing J2sdk1.4.2_08 or higher (don't go for j2sdk1.5). check whtr JAVA_HOME,SAPINST_JRE_HOME & PATH environmental variables are correctly set.

check whtr any hotfixes are available for DB, then make sure tht all the necessary services are up and running (like "server" & DB agents etc).

and then repeat the SAP installation process.

Thanks for the reply..

In my case ..i had tried

J2sdk1.4.2_08

J2sdk1.4.2_09

J2sdk1.4.2_13

Jdk1.5

and even with out the J2sdk installed [i meant removing all the installed versions]

the installation goes through up to 14 % and fails badly..

It installs the MAXDB and then later becos the mentioned error it fails again..
