Changing the SourceSID of objects in TADIR table

Hello All,

Can anyone share your experience in changing the Objects's SOURCESID after importing a transport from external system(e.g ABC) to your system (XYZ)

Here is the need:

After the developement package is imported into XYZ, the package will be changed in XYZ.

Unless the original system name(ABC) is changed, it will ask confirmation everytime modify something.

So the developer like to change its original name(ABC) to XYZ for objects contained in the external transport.

Please help.

You can do it through transaction SE03 -> Change Object Directory Entry

how much is the effort for the confirmation ... just one click, and how many times is the abaper going to change that object ....

The reason for the source system being maintained it to ascertain the origanality of the object. Do you change the source of a SAP object when to change it ... you dont

It is a matter of some best practise and discipline to be followed so that people down the line who come and maintain the system years after you leave do not curse you

Any way it is a matter on opinion , somebody else may have a different opinion
