Hi All,

I have installed the SAP NW2004s on Windows platform with MaxDB.

During the insatllaruon the J2ee Adminsirtator was create with credentials

User:Administrator

password:trustno1

When i logon into the Portal with ,i saw the user Administrator.

Are both this users similar.

B)The user with which i logon into the VisulaAdmin tool using Administrtaor.

IS it same as the Portal user.

C)Same is with the deployment Tool .Here imcan logon with Administrator.

Now is this user the same as shown in the Potal.

OR

Are both this users different.

Manoj

HI Manoj,

When you have an ABAP and JAVA schema you have J2ee_admin,where as if you install only Java (for example only portal)you have administrator user.

The user administrator is the super user with all the avilable authorization.

The J2EE Engine administrator password is stored in the User Management Engine (UME) . All tools that are external to the J2EE Engine read the J2EE Engine administrator password from the secure store. If the J2EE Engine administrator password is changed, it is automatically changed in the UME, but not in the secure store.

Both the users are same.

Hi Shyam ,

There is one more clarification i require for this.

Me not sure if i am putting the question correctly.

As you mentioned that both Portal Administrator and J2ee Administrator are the same.

I wanted to know if both are present in the SAme UME store.

IF i configured my portal for LDAP ,then will the administrator be in the same palce or will portal administrtaor be in LADP

and J2EE would be in database.

Then what will happen since both are pointing to different store.

And if the password are diffrent then that would be problem as authentication would fail

Best Regards

Hi Manoj,

Portal admin/j2ee_admin will reside in the java engine which controls UME as well your LDAP will dont have the portal and j2ee_admin users. As per SAP a user should exist either any one of this.

Cheers,

Shyam
