APO DP - use of MAPE forecast error

Former Member

I am using APO V5.

The customer I am working with wants to use a different 'bespoke' MAPE calculation to the SAP standard calculation as the forecast error measure.

When a forecast is run, we would want to see the calculated 'bespoke' MAPE in the forecast view, in the same way that one can see the standard calculated MAPE.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Thanks, Bob Austin

Bob,

You want to change the error value that SAP calculates with standard formula.

Good implementations do not do this. Still, if you want, only way you can achieve this is by changing MAPE formula in standard SAP FM:

/SAPAPO/FCST_CALCULATE_ERRORS.

Sarah,

OK, thanks for response.

So, I could use the BADI /SAPAPO/SDP_FCSTERR to measure this 'bespoke MAPE'.

If I do this, is the 'bespoke MAPE' error then shown on the forecast view /SAPAPO/SDP94?

Bob,

Surely!!

"Customer-Spec. Forecast Errors" will be a new field on the FCST error tab. That will show the calculation results of this BADI.

Rgds,

Sarah.
