SENDER Mail Adapter -

Hi Gurus,

I was trying to configure the SENDER mail adapter.

We are only on Xi 3.0 SP14.

We can connect to Mail server and it reads Emails.

We have looked at the how top guide on EMAIL adapter.

However, we dont understand what settings are required

so that the XI message payload is the attachment from the EMAIL.

ie the attachment is a valid XML document.

Exactly what Module entries make the attachment the XI payload.

The XI payload is SUBJECT and content etc, not the attachment.

Second issue, Only certain emails should be read.

we tried additional parameter SHeaderSUBJECT = bla

but all messages were read.

Can anyone help with these 2 issues ?

cheers

Phil.

Hi Sudheer,

we looked at this blog.

It looks close to the solution.

However there are 2 payloads in the blog.

We can try this to see what happens.

But the real issue is still not clarified.

What if the values are in the module keys change or are unknown.

Is there no simple way to say.

Make the attachment a message payload.

or all attachments a separate Messages.

Why do you need to know name and description of attachment ?

What if this is unknown ?

Regards

Phil.

The names of paylaod and attachment are set by the mail adapter by a fix rule, so you need not worry about changes.

But of course your mail has to follow always the same rule, for eaxample the real content of the mail has to be the second part.

In the mail adapter it is not possible to filter mails with a special header. You could do this in the mail server as rule, for example you forward the mails from one addressto another, or you create a receiver determination where you filter all spam.

Stefan

Hi Phil

Have you managed to solve this problem? If so, could you give us a hint as to what you did.

I have a Mail ===> XI=====> File scenario and I am also having difficulty processing the attachment for the email. If there is only one attachment then it works fine but if I have more than one, then I am not sure what configuration I need to make so that the Mail Adapter processes each attachment as a seperate message.

Thanks in advance.
