Hi Elad,

As Bhavesh already pointed out, you should be on atleast SP14 to receive adapter failure alerts.

Also test your alert category using the report "RSALERTTEST". Check if this delivers an alert to your alert inbox.

If you feel alerts are getting triggered but not delivered, you can inspect ST22 for any short dumps

In your XI sytem, goto Tcode SE38 and execute the report program "RSALERTTEST".

It is a report program that can be used to test the alert categories...

Elad,

This shows your Alert category is working fine

You have selected your Alert category for testing. Right?

Now what are the configurations you ahve done for your alert category in Alert Configuration(RWB) ?

Also is the alert getting trigerred for mapping errors? You can check this by giving a wrong input...

Elad,

1. Check for Integrtaion Engine Alerts first . Make some mappig error and see if the alert is triggered.. If yes , then do the following for Adapter Engine alerts and check if they are triggered

If still no sucess, make everything * --> and in where did the error occur make it " Adapter Engine --> File adapter " and check if the alert is triggered.

2. If the integrtaion engine alerts are not getting triggered due to mapping errors, check for dumps in st22. Make the user id as * and see if there is some authorization error for the XIRWBUSER.

3. Also, test the RFCC destination CentralMonitoringServer-XI alerts in Sm59.

I checked the TCODE st22 and not found any damp.

I checked the TCODE m59 and everything looks OK.

Elad,

When you checked ST22 for dumps, did you make the user id as *? Can you try by making the user id as * and checking if you have any dumps.?

Are alerts working for Integration Engine Error?

Elad,

For Integration Engine Alerts, make your Alert Rule as * everywhere and then make some error in your mapping or any step in your Integrtaion Engine and then check if the alert is triggered.

Elad,

This option is used when you want the Alert to be triggered only one time!

Nice to hear it was solved.

Hello Bhavesh,

It is very interesting point.

When the "Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule" is checked I don't received any alerts.

When the "Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule" unchecked i received millions massages until the problem is solved.

Elad,

Suppress Multiple Alerts of this Rule is used so that the Alert will be triggered only the first time an error occurs satisfying the rule. Only after the Alert has been CONFIRMED in the Alert Inbox of the recipient, the next Alert will be triggered in this case.

Unchecking this option will trigger the alert for every error that satisfies this alert rule.

Bhavesh

Elad,

Did you configure Alerts as shown in this blog?

/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--step-by-step

Adapter Engine Alerts can be triggered only if you are Sp14 and above.

Hi Elad,

that could have some reasons.

- Condition for raise the alert

- Something went wrong at ALRTCATDEF

- Did you put the right user?

- The inbox from RWB has some strange behavior. Better look via ALRTINBOX

Have a look to Michals blog XI: Alerts - Troubleshooting guide
