When I was prompted for the Kernel NW04sSR1, the SAPINST would NOT except the 51032266_11 DVD (which is the 32bit UNICODE_Kernel 7.0 windows server IA32). It wanted the non-UNICODE DVD of 51032266_3.

If this is the issue, what is the correct Kernel to install??

Hi Laurie:

1) You have selected to install UNICODE version in the Installation Selection Screen?

2) What is your SQL Server version and patch?

Federico

Hi Federico,

I am selecting to install UNICODE version (under general parameters, I set the new SID=SLM, Install Drive=D:, Unicode System is checked.

The SQL Server version is:

2007-01-16 04:20:36.68 server Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.2039 (Intel X86)

May 3 2005 23:18:38

Copyright (c) 1988-2003 Microsoft Corporation

Enterprise Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 1)

Thanks for reviewing this; I'm still stuck! I am confused on when I'm prompted for the kernel, that SAPINST will not take the UC version (LABEL.ASC).

Thanks,

Laurie

Hi Laurie

Regarding the below describe issue, I have got the same problem that the SAPinst didn't accept the SAP Kernel NW2004s with SR1. I have re-copied the whole CD on the hard disk and linked the SAPInst to the new fresh source on hard disk . And afterwards the SAPInst accept the SAP NW2004s SR1.

Best regards

Ralf
