Hi All,
Is there a parameter on the app server that limits the number of simultaneous SAPGUI sessions to 5? If so, is there a "real" limit and what might that be?
Thanks in advance for your help.
On a single logon the max number of sessions are only 5.
But when you logon second time then you can open 5 more sessions.
Hope this may help you.

additional info: (to SAPGUI max.Session setting) profile-parm => rdisp/max_alt_modes
this kernel-default = 6
(in ERP-6.0 with Kernel-7.53 and also (up to) in S/4Hana-1909 with Kernel-7.77)
===============================
but
that profil-parm default is obviously changed in S/4Hana-2020 with Kernel 7.81
to kernel-default = 16

Hi Randy,
Try look at profile parameter "rdisp/max_alt_modes" and it's description.
This parameter controls how many sessions are possible for one logon (2=>10).
To control multiple logon you can use profile parameter "login/disable_multi_gui_login", again try read it's documentation (Yes/no).
The combination of this two parameters is your "real" limit.
(Also consider parameter "login/disable_multi_rfc_login").

Rolf

Hi,
Maximum of six sessions can be opened for a single logon.If you need further logon you can login again with the option to keep the other logon open.
Thanks.

Rajesh V.
