Hello VC experts,
I already searched SDN + help.sap but found no hint
if I could <b>copy a group of model elements</b> (or at least one) (e.g. a form)
from one Visual Composer model <b>into another model</b>.
As VC doesn't allow for "inheritance"
this is a VERY important feature to my opinion.
Would you recommend exporting the model to a .gml file
and copying the source (which parts...??) ?
Any hints are welcome and will be rewarded!
Daniel
Hi daniel,
Contact to WAS People(Admin Team).
or u can reload or reinstall Adobe SVG viewer 3.0 & Adobe Flash palyer 9.
I think this will solve ur problem

Hi Daniel,
you can use the export and import function of VC for this.
Export the whole model and import it in the other model, then delete the components, which you do not use.
Best Regards,
Marcel

Thanks Marcel for this tip - I haven't used the import up to now.
Unfortunately the Visual Composer on my PC/engine
got broke so that it displays only blank page instead
of a Design/Layout window.
I have restarted the engine but it is still the same.
I can open models, but the "Compose" tab on the right
is blank. Other tabs "Browse", "Configure" ... are working.
I have searched for similar problems here but they don't fit
or are not solved themselves.

Hi Marcel,
my VC worked very well during almost 2 weeks!
Now I've found a clue:
a VC on another portal (from SDC) has the same problem.
So I restarted my whole PC -- but no improvement !
A "strange" thing I did last night:
I left VC with a model open all night
with a waiting file dialog for GML import.
This seems to be harmful....
Actually I expected the session to timeout.
But VC worked some further steps this morning:
I cancelled the import and closed the model (to be safe).
Maybe the design screen was blank then
or one step before- I don't remember exactly.
Here a lot of numbers from my PC:
VC versions: GML 700.10.0027
clientserverflex+portal: all 700.10.0.1
IE version is: 6.0.2900.2180.xsp_sp2_gdr.,.,.,.,
MSXML 4.0 SP2
Adobe SVG viewer 3.0
Adobe Flash Player 9 Plugin
SAP engine: NW04s, SP10 (7.0) (from DWI)
Hi Daniel,
you only have this problem with this model or with others too?
I never had this issue. But I think you can not save the model with a open dialog, because the dialog is modal. Maybe deleting all your cache, cookies and so on form IE helps.
Have you also tried to open the model with another user?
Maybe a restart of the J2EE helps, if this is possible.
Best Regards,
Marcel
Hi Marcel,
neither Deleting cookies and temp.inet.files
nor restarting J2EE and PC
didn't change the situation:
- still empty (design/layout/source) windows and empty "Compose" tab.
- with all models I have created - and with a new model as well.
- cannot deploy/start loaded models.
Now I try the hint from Naresh Kumar:
-reinstall Adobe SVG viewer 3.0 & Adobe Flash player 9
--> IT Worked!!
[ should I open a support ticket (css) for this case if I can reproduce it ?]
Hi Marcel,
now I managed to import a .gml file
but it only worked on the top level storyboard.
Down inside the iView where I would like the elements to go
the Import fails: "Unit to import is not allowed under target diagram"
Are there different type of exports which I could import in
any other place than the top level storyboard?
Best regards,
Daniel
