I attempted to install a dialogue instance on a separate server. However when SAPINST attempted to update the kernel I stopped it.
I have sapmnt/SID mounted on the dialogue user and it lloked like it was going to update the kernel on the sapmnt/SID on the CI/DB. So I aborted it...
Has anyone installed dialogue instance on a separate server from the CI/DB server that can give me some advie on stops.
Thanks
Alex
Hi,
If you want to install Dialog instance on a seperate system
1) Install Oracle client software on the dialog instance system, where DBSID should be same in as CI/DB server.
2) SID should be same as in CI installation.
3) Instance no should be unique on a system
Other steps same like CI installation
when asked, giv Instance no of CI, hostname of CI and hostname of DB
Please reward points if useful

Phani
