Hi,
My xi is running on Unix system and 3rd party application is running on windows.
How to share the common folder?
Is I need to use FTP?

Hi,
yes you need to use FTP. XI server's file adapter can access only files placed on its local directory.
In your case as you want it to pool for files from your desktop, install a FTP server on your desktop and make file adapter connnnect to it .

3 possibilities
1) FTP
2) configure SAMBA on UNIX access windows share
3) install a NFS client on windows in order to access unix disk.
