Novice in using NWDS

Hi,

I'm new to NWDS and how do I start with?

I've learnt Java, and Using NWDS I want to create a simple application(UI) from where I want to connect to SAP and collect the information from a particular table(in SAP) and then display the same in the UI. How can I do this in NWDS and How to connect to the J2EE engine?(if requried).
