the server of xi is newly installed inour company problem is arising wen trying to
open ir/id,
its asking to save/open the downloadable file .could any plz rectify this
just install Java Web Start of verison 1.4.2_08 or 1.4.2._09 and click on IR/ID again, then it will start downloading some files into your local harddisk. First time it may take 10, 15 minutes. Then next time onwards It will not download anything since Java Webstart cache those files.

Hi,
To start ID and IR u need some jar files which are present on server side.
You can download these files on ur client machine once and then use these files every time u start Id and iR.
To download these files u can use java web start 1.4.2._06 or higher ,this application will download all the jar files.
So to start ur ID and IR ,install Java web Start with 1.4.2_06 or higher and then download all the jar files each for IR and ID.
Thanks.

if it is asking you to download the .JNLP files then you dont have Java web start. and if it is asking you to download the jar files or starts downloading it then let it do that...that will have to be done at lease once
