SSO and WD iViews

I have the WAS and Portal running on the same box so my impression was that when I create an iView it would work fine with single sign on. For some reason the only time my WD apps don't give me a "Page Not Found" error is when I put the port number in the portal URL.

i.e. if I put in the URL of http://tewk-epdv.global.avidww.com:54300/irj/portal

and navigate to the page with my iViews they work fine

But - if I use the URL of http://tewk-epdv.global.avidww.com/irj/portal

and navigate to the page I get Page Not Found errors.

Anyone have any ideas? I created my iViews as "SAP Web Dynpro iView" , then selected "Java" as the type, and "SAP_LocalSystem" as my system, and put in my webdynpro namespace and application name- it behaves exactly as it should with the 54300 in the URL.

I did turn on application authentication in my WD project in the application properties. Could this be the cause of the problem??

Hi Dana

Single-sign-on this is a method of authentication of some user via Logon Ticket. The authentication procedure is not related to the error you have. Setting you made in your WD project in the application properties do not affect the error too.

Why can not you just work with the first Url

http://tewk-epdv.global.avidww.com:54300/irj/portal

?

We are using SSO to authenticate to the Portal using IIS Proxy and the Windows logon and we use the url without the port number. We are not looking to authenticate to a backend R/3 system or anything.

The URL w/o the 54300 is the one that's been published to all of the users when the portal went live so to change now would be very painful.

I answered my own question...

I had to create a new system definition (I called it ZSAP_LOCALSYSTEM) that has the host/port for WAS in the parameters (perhaps our SAP_LOCALSYSTEM was set up incorrectly??)

Once this was done and I re-created the iViews they work without the port in the URL as well as with the port in the URL.
