Purchase Order Backend Error!!

Hi Experts,

We are in SRM 5.0 EBP 4.0 extended classic scenario. In a particular case, I find that when a Purchase Order was changed and ordered, it went into backend application error as I could see the same in RZ20 . The alert read " Purchase Order ( No.) : Material/Service group ( Name begining with X) does not exist. "

I have checked for the product category in extended attributes (PPOSA_BBP) for the user and find that the same is maintained.

Also in the backend system, there is the Z equivalent of the product category maintained. I understand that there is a BADI which converts the X categories to Z in backend for checking purpose so only Z equivalent all all X product categories have been maintained there.

Can Anybody tell me then why this error came? What is the solution for the same?

hi rajesh,

badi BBP_ECS_PO_OUT_BADI can be used in ec scenario to change data that changes will be visible in backend only.
