Hi Siddesh ,

That issue is kinda solved now because in the log i can see that its connecting to Oracle however it gives this new error :

the error message that NLS_LANG in environment is "AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8DEC" and db value is "AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1"

I have changed this setting in envoirment variables and system registry as well ... but again its throwing the same error .

Any suggestion Sir .

Hi,

I get the issue now.. (i think). The oracle client picks up wrong settings of NLS_LANG from environment variables and in case of windows also from Registry.

Check your <sid>adm and ora<sid> user environment variables, I am sure one of them (especially <sid>adm) has incorrect NLS_LANG.

On unix, the <sid>adm user home directory has files called .dbenv_<hostname>.ksh/csh and similarly in ora<sid> user home directory.

In Windows you should login as <sid>adm check Environment variable settings for NLS_LANG.

I also see you are getting Ora 1017, this points to invalid userid/password.

Please check the following note

SAP Note 400241 - Problems with ops$ or sapr3 connect to Oracle

PS: I would generally start with a clean install.

hi,

yup, r/3 47 runs with oracle 9i...but keep in mind that oracle 9i will be desupported by the 30th of june this year...

win2k is supported to run r/3 47...the blue screens surely have another explanation - any logs or stop messages you could post?
