Bug fix for SAP GUI for Windows 6.40 and MS Internet Explorer 7.00

With upgrading your MS Internet Explorer to release 7.00 and running SAP GUI for Windows 6.40 the GUI controls based on HTML might work no longer properly. Would be good to see it removed at some stage.

Hi there

I'm glad you posted the fix but why should we have to go through all this extra stuff just to download a patch.

It's not like this is of ANY USE whatsoever to people who don't have the 6.40 GUI installed in the first place.

In these days of Identity theft, Spam e-mail and a myriad of other scams the amount of information you are asking for just to download a PATCH (not the original application) is IMO totally over the top.

If you really need this type of security you should then say perhaps enter an OSS logon userid or only make this type of information available from a non public area of the website.

I'm sure SAP won't misuse the information but if we can download the ABAP trial without supplying this type of information why on earth are you asking for this information before allowing users to download the patch.
