Transport : one system not existing in preproduction group

Hi

We have an Xi setup with 4 integration servers for 4 phases (DEV, TEST, PRE, PROD). We also use some R/3 systems that exist in each phase. All systems are in 1 central SLD.

There is just one exception. We have a SCM system with only 3 servers, so we don't have a business system for it in PRE.

My question now is : how do we do the transport for this sytem? We use transport using file system.

For all systems transport goes like this :

DEV --> TEST --> PRE --> PROD

For the SCM system it goes like this :

DEV --> TEST --> PROD

When we do the import in the integration directory on the preproduction system we get an error that for SCM_TEST there is no business system assigned in preproduction.

Is there a workaround for this without having to create a new server for SCM in preproduction ?

You can temporally change the transport target in the SLD, assigning SCM_TEST to the lanscape of XI PRE.

After the import your can roll-back the small change in the SLD.

Hi kwanten,

to run a full test at PRE you need anyway an SCM. You can load business system SCM_TEST from SLD into IB Directory (PRE). If you dont plant to send or receive SCM messages dont mind. It would just be a possibility 4 a correct transport. Alternativ you can transport single objects instead of scenarios and avoid objects which contain that system. Or you manipulate the transport target at SLD and change the entry later.
