We are using SRM 5.0 & have installed SRM & SUS in the same client.
When we are running the T- Code BBP_SP_SUPP_INI system is not generating the mails to vendor nor it is giving any message also. No messages are appearing in T-Code SCOT also in transit.
We have define back end system & assign system type - "EBP_SUS" & assign the mail ID to Admin. SCOT setting are done.
We have not done any XI setting as SRM & SUS are in same client.

Supplier Relationship Management>Supplier Self-Services>Master Data-->Make Settings for Business Partners
