SAPOSCOL and SAP<SID>_inst number stopped

Hi everyone.

I recently joined an organisation as an SAP BASIS consultant.

I encountered a problem with one of the servers

SAPOSCOL and SAP<SID>_inst number services stopped running tried

running them manually still no go.

Can anyone help me with this.

your first address for information if a Windows service is not starting:

Windows System Eventlog,

What does the event log tell you?

Pl check the files in the following pat

usr\sap\SID\SYS\profile

Pl let me know the details of the files found there.

Hi,

When you want to up your R\3 system means SAPOSCOL and SAP<SID>_instnumber are the two services will take main role to start the system.

If its not start we have to start manually because SAPOSCOL is the operating system collector it will checks whether the O\S resoures available or not.

SAP<SID>_instnumber service starts the all profiles.

Well that does not solve my problem kiran.

Server is down and services does not start manually.

While u start those services manually from windows services wat eroor msg is showing when u start sapsid_instno..

May be your should check your service user SAPService<SID> have the appropriate permission which require domain admin or administrative right. Also check on your event log to see if there any unusual error.

I tried that umesh it isn't not working
