Xi installation error.

Hi All;

during XI installation in visual administrator we transfer the roles into the user groups this is giving the error "role assignment failed "

What is that i m missing .

please help.

Are you getting this error during WAS J2EE installation.

Can you provide some more information ,to help me understand the problem.

Hi,

I hope you have done a client copy after Database Instance and run Java Instance on the copied client. while running java instance did you choose proper UME. you should have choosen the option which specifies Exchange Infrsstructure only (the second option). the error which you have specified has high chance of occuring if and only if you have chosen the wrong UME

Hi Sundar;

I guess this was the problem.

I have now uninstalled the java addin for ABAP now while reinstalling at creation of OS user it is not taking the earlier OS user password

Please help.

Hi,

While uninstalling <sysid>adm user will also get deleted. so login using someother administrator userid. create <sysid>adm user and then restart the system. now login using <sysid>adm user and run the java instance again. i guess this is the only way to proceed.

hey tushar,

check the following

1) did u generate the roles for SAP_XI* and SAP_SLD*

go to transaction code PFCG ---> Utilities ---> mass generation

then give SAP_XI* for first time, then again with SAP_SLD* and finally for SAP_BC_AI_LANDSCAPE_DB_RFC

2) choose Utilities ---> mass comparision and give SAP_XI*

3) then u need to specify SLD data supplier

check all these things are properly setup
