XI Certification Break Down

I came to know the following regarding XI Certification can some one please confirm if the below statement is valid?

"The Passing percentage is 65% with a section cut off of 55%".

Lets say if section 1 has 8 questions I get 4 right and I get the all the other questions correct, so I end up getting 76 out of 80, does that mean I did not clear the certification?

It all depends on type of questions you get. I have seen couple of guys whose overall score is 68% but still failed the certfication since in one section they got around 40%. But almost simialr conditions some other guys cleared the exam even though they got less than 55% in each section. I think it varies little by type of questions you get in the exam.
