Which JDK version for NW2004s on Solaris?

I have installed a NetWeaver 2004s SR1 ABAP+JAVA system on Sun Solaris 10 SPARC 64-bit with Sun's JDK 1.4.2_13. I reviewed SAP Note 716604 prior to the installation and it appeared that JDK 1.4.2_13 was OK for Sun SPARC 64-bit (1.4.2_13 is not OK for Linix on x64). Now I am being told that there is a problem with JDK 1.4.2_13 on all platforms, but I can't find a SAP Note to confirm this. Apparently the problem has to do with the J2EE Startup Framework. My J2EE starts fine - I am just seeing some strange errors in different places.

Is anyone running NetWeaver 2004s ABAP+JAVA with JDK 1.4.2_13?

Hi,

You can just install JDK 1.4.2_12 and change the path as JDK 1.4.2_12 works fine for Linux on x86_64 bit.

Best Regards,

Sachin.

What about Solaris on SPARC 64-bit? Should JDK 1.4.2_13 work OK there? I can't find any SAP Notes that indicate otherwise.

Yes JDK 1.4.2_13 is OK to use.

We have done similarly in our Soaris 64 bit.
