SAP GUI for Windows 6.40 Crash

Hello,

I have a computer running Windows XP SP1 and SAP GUI 6.4 and it crash 5 or 6 times by day. I can see the following error in Event viewer (It's in Spanish):

Aplicación que no responde: saplgpad.exe, versión 6404.4.14.1012, módulo que no responde SAPfewui.dll, versión 6404.4.14.366, dirección que no responde 0x00036168.

I had uninstalled SAP and I make a new (clean) install, but the error persists. I also have another computers with same hardware, applications and they are working OK with the same version of SAP.

The error does happen since we updated from SAP 6.20 to 6.40.

Any idea?

Yes, you must make sure to apply the patches immediately following the installation of 6.40 gui. I had the same problem. I installed the sapgui 6.40, then I log on to the system and it crashed, then applied the patches and it still had problems. The only way to get it right, was to uninstall the 6.40 gui, reinstall the 6.40gui and immmediatly install the patch(do not try to log on after initial installation).

You are running a fairly old version. I would apply the setup and GUI patches.
