Applying SP on existing R/3

Hi,

SAP on one of our division is planned for updating the SP and i would like to get clarified with few doubts.

When updating the new support packs the TP requests need to be considered which will have lock object so what needs to be taken care. How do i retain my TP's in Development server and what other things needs micro attention.

Please let me know so i can propose my mangement the solution with clear vision of completion.

Do a test import of the support packs that you need to apply

This will give you the locked objects ( transport reqeust) which the Support packs will be changing

It will also give you SPAU and SPDD in advance

Discuss this with the Functional guys / abapers and prepare a plan on action

Hi,

you are right if you are support package is updating the object which is locked under TP, so you need to download the note corresponding to the support package and read carefully and discuss with the functional consultants about the change.
