Added fields and structure not visible in VC

Hi,

We had a model using a certain custom function module and everything was fine, I was able to see all the fields and build a model and deploy it, and the data was processed and displayed correctly.

But now a programmer has modified the function module to add a couple fields to an existing structure (which is visible in VC) and a new structure. Yet in VC if I look at "define data service" or "test data service" for that function module, I do not see the new fields on the existing structure, and I don't see the added structure. Both structures are defined on the Tables tab of the function module.

An interesting note is that something similar happened before, but after a little while when I re-accessed the model, I was suddenly able to see the new field in "define data service". But I do not know what changed in that case so that I was suddenly able to see the new field. And in the new case I have tried everything I can think of, including creating a completely new model using the same function module, and still the new fields and structure are not visible.

Is there some step required to force changes from the back-end to show up in VC?

Thanks,

Margaret

Hi Margaret,

I think you should read this:

<a href="http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/vc/caching+data+source&">https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/vc/caching+data+source&</a>

Hope that helps,

Benny

Thanks, Benny!

I didn't see the "refresh" option mentioned in the first bullet, but I tried the suggestion in the third bullet and it did the trick.
