MDM Installation

Hi ,

Iam new to MDM installation. I have some quiries to install

1. what is the hardware requirement for MDM installation ?

2. From where i can download MDM software . I can not see in service.sap.com/swdc

3.Do i required seperate license for MDM ? we already have Netweaver license

4.Can we installed MDM software on our exiting SAP Dtaabse server.This is we are already using for ECC6.0 dba server

5.Can we install on SQL2005 enterprise server

I saw the instguide but did not understand all the information.Please suggest me all above quiries.

SAP MDM can be installed separately from other SAP components. Regarding databases, SAP MDM only support either SQL, Oracle or DB2 as of SP04 .

SAP MDM can be installed on SQL2000 and SQL2005.

The OS should be any one of the following

1. Windows Server 2003 on IA32 32Bit or

2. Windows server 2003 on x64 64bit.

Hi Kristene,

You just need 512MB of minimum RAM and min 5GB and 10GB is recommended of your HDD space...to install MDM in your local system!

You can download it from SMP and you can install on top of SQL server!

As per my understanding we just need to install WAS700 then required to add MDM addon , right ?

This is just like BI_CONT .

1.under service.sap.com/pam/click../sap netweaver , you find the Product Matrix also for MDM

2. under service.sap.com/installations-> my company...->SAP MDM-> SAP MDM 5.5 you can download the software

4. no sap recommend a seperate DB

1. <b>Hardware Requirement: </b> 4 GB RAM, 2x146 GB HD is given in sizing guide but minimum you can go along with 2GB RAM and 60 GB HD.

2. Try to find in Areas: <b>Search for Support Packages and Patches</b> or <b>Search for Installations and Upgrades</b> for MDM Software at service.sap.com/swdc.

3. You can install it on SQL2005 enterprise server.

SAP NetWeaver MDM is licensed separately. Without the license, you can't find it in the Software Distribution Center of the SAP Service Marketplace.
