Why so many PIRWBUSERs in SM04?

My PI7.0 system always has 5 PIRWBUSERs on SM04.

How is the number 5 decided?

It also can show 1 or 5 SAPJSF on SM04.

Could anybody help explain? Thanks!

Hi -

Having "always" 5 PIRWBUSER/XIRWBUSER users listed in SM04 is specific to your system. Not all XI systems will show this. Can't say exactly what these connections are as many internal Java to ABAP stack internal connections can be made while the system is in use. For example, I'm sure one of those connections represents a connection that is set by most (if not all) XI systems - the connection to the 'pmistore' within the "Destinations" J2EE service (look via Visual Admin tool). Also, in RWB component monitoring, if you click on Integration Engine or Business Process Engine, a connection to the ABAP stack is made using PIRWBUSER.

For the SAPJSF user, this user is mainly configured in the JCo RFC Provider service (in Visual Admin). There are four connections maintained here. At least when each of these are being used, you should see a connection listed in SM04. Not sure about the other one.
