changing role name

Hi,

I'm running R/3 4.6c - i want to change some of my existing role names - I know it can be done by copying the role and giving the new copied role a new name but i don't want to do it this way.

Hi,

Which roles are you talking about SAP Standard or your own self defined roles.

You can rename it anyways you don't need to copy and change it, however it is recommended that you copy and change roles.

i am talking about my own self defined roles.

Please explain how can i change the name and also explain why it is recommended to copy and change the role name?
