Unable to reach SAP server

Former Member

Hi,

Need some input for trouble shooting the problem we are facing.

The SAP instance is running on Unix server. Now, we could not reach server from SAP Logon pad. It is timing out.

But we could ping the system. Also could logon as admin to sap and see the instances are all running.

Is there any processes to trouble shoot the issue?

Thanks,

Sam

Hi Sam...

Check that your DB is up and running, (open a telnet session and logon as <sid>adm run R3trans -d, if return code is 0000 DB is ok, if not check the DB

Also check logs dev_disp, dev_ms, and dev_w0

hope this help

If it is only for only one use on a specific workstation, I would recommend to try it from different workstation.

If it is happening for all users, then check DEV_wX (x- work process number) file and then restart the services.

Hope this helps

Thanks!
