Authorisations on Material Types or Storage Locations

Hi Friends,

i want to Block the Certain Material types with Respect to storage Locations. for certain users.

How can we control the users from using any Kind of transaction codes on certain material types or storage locations.

For Eg- for one particular raw material type except one user no body should able to know even this exists in the master data.

can anyone please help me on this

This is wider than an authorisation question:

steps:

1 locate TRX in SU42 and find what autorisation objects are available. Locate in these the wanted restriction (Material type storage location etc).

2 locate all TRX you want to give to users and this data secured in and look in Su24 for availablilty of the wanted restrictions. If not do not give that TRX to users.

3 together with functional consutants set up matrix of MatType etc through which you are building the restriction wanted and see that Master data administrators adhere to the rules set.

4 possible solution for the latter: create seperate Master Data roles for each group. and assign to different users.

Step 1: Find out the role that contains MATERIAL TYPE Authorization Object(M_MATE_MAR).

Step2: Inactivate the authorization object or Leave it black for Material type field.

Step3: Create role and Enter Manually material type authorization object, Provide the corresponding values then assign the user.
