Search gone after adding a translation to template

Dear all,

we did a translation for a german text for transaction BBP_BID_INV in using SE80 - Function Group BBP_PDH_SEARCH - Screen 2005.

After saving the changes and republishing the template, the search function is not available on the Web anymore. As the search function is a widely used one, all related transactions are affected at the moment.

Something is still not active, etc. What is missing?

Hi,

If you have made changes only to the ITS template(not changed the screen element),please compare the new version and the standard version for the interent service..there you will notice all the changes done and then compare to find out the missing statements/errors...Also see that the ITS memory/cache is refreshed to reflect the changes..

As per your problem,if the page is not appearing at all,there might be a syntax error in the template of the ITS service in whcih you have made the modifications..

The way I am used to adjust translations is the following - correct way or wrong?:

1) Transaction SE80.

2) Function Group: BBP_PDH_SEARCH

3) Expand node "Screens" and doubleclick Screen 2005.

4) Choose Goto -> Translation.

5) "Original Language" as DE and "Target Language" as EN.

6) Expand node Screen Painter Texts

7) Double click on BBP_PDH_SEARCH 2005

😎 Search for text in german and enter desired English text below.

9) Save the text and republish

The template is checked and there are no any errors. The screen is also shown as active. Is there a further activation needed? Refreshing the ITS memory via SITSPMON?

Hello Claudia,

I think you have activated the modulepool screens .. justify me ..

If yes then try to activate the BBPSEARCH/BBP_BID_INV ITS services.

Hi Mani,

the services BBPSEARCH and BBP_BID_INV are active and I re pulished them as well. No change on the screen. The portion of the search area is till not available. Any further input is highly appreciated!

Hi Yann,

the note 877076 is not relevant for my case. But there has been a link to note 6004010. So I tried to re generate the screens with the mentioned report. But the issue is still there.

It looks, that the template is there, but is not pick up during the transaction call. How can it be, that something is active but also not?

Any further insights?

Now we and SAP know about a sideeffect of an OSS Note .... .
