Classic scenario, where to create Contract and product category

Hello All,

We are using SRM4.0 ( Classic scenario) with non-sap backend system.

We need to attach contract in Shopping cart in SRM.

My questions are:

1. In which system ( EBP or non-sap backed), we need to create contract? and how to create it?

2. In which system( EBP or non-sap backend), we need to define product or product category? and how to create it?

Regards

Neelesh

Thanks Yann!!!, thats what, I was looking for.

My last query is, after creating product categories in EBP system ( for classic scenario), do we need to maintain these product categories in non-sap backend systems also? if yes, then how?

Hi,

Well it depends on your non sap backend system...

SRM has nothing to do with that...

When you create PO in your non SAP backend system, is product category mandatory amongst all PO data ?

Kind regards,

Yann

Hi Neelesh,

1- With classic scenario, the contract should be in your backend.

With badi bbp_doc_change, you could implement a logic to assign local contract to your shopping cart.

2-You can create product categories directly in EBP whatever scenario you use (classic, ECS or standalone).

Kind regards,

Yann

One more doubt, Global Contract can be distributed from EBP to only in SAP R/3. But we have Non-sap backend system. Then how is it feasible????

Thanks mani!!

Actually, right now, we don't have anything in non-sap backend system. So, instead of creating product/product id's in non sap backend system, and then replicating to EBP system, Can we create directly product / product Ids in EBP system in classic scenario using COMM_HIERACHY????

When you replicate product categories from any backend system, they get created in SRM and update the value of logical system with the backend from which it replicated.

You can only create Product category in standalone. You can try to create the same for classic but maintain log syst value with the correct backend. This is not advisable.

PS : Reward points if helpful.

The answers are

1) Since u decided to go for Classic scenario, U can create Global contract in SRM and distribute to Back end system with the same number . We don't know about your backend system . when u create the SC in SRM , the contract is one of the avl source and can be assigned .

2) With regard to products/product ids, Since u are currently using the non sap backend system , u can think of replicating the same data to EBP system
