Hi,
I tried to install Web Application Server (Netweaver 04 Support Release 1 - 6.40) with Oracle 10G database, the installer had given an error message saying that "Oracle is not installed in the host, install Oracle before continuing". But I already installed Oracle 10G (10.2).
Does Netweaver 04 support Oracle 10G or not? Can any one help me?
NW04 SR1 was originally released with Oracle 9.2.
In order to install it on Oracle 10.2 you need some modified CDs/DVDs.
Entry point for all of this information is note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/940794">940794</a>

51030191 is the wrong CD as I already suggested in my first post.
Oracle9 has a different registry structure than Oracle10 and therefore old installers will not detect and handle Oracle10 installations.
as note 949116 mentions you should use 51031765.
As this one is no longer available, it was obviously replaced by 51032143 which is already mentioned in this note for R3E 4.7X2.0.
I will fix the note within the next days.

Peter

hello peter,
thanks for your reply.

I already have Oracle 10g installed (speciffically 10.2) and there's a need to install Web AS ABAP. I started installation on CI yet this error occurred:
"MDB-06168 Oracle is not installed on this host. Install Oracle before continuing."
I checked Oracle and it was really working. Bottom line, why is it not detected? What supposed to be the problem? How can i fix it?
