Hi Krishna,
the major difference b/n R/3 and load balancing system is "the load balancing solution dispatches a client request to an available instance."
go thru this document on load balancing..

Hi Krishna,
Dedicated server - The dipatcher of the dedicated server maintains a queue and allocates the user request to the perticular server only that means only to the dediacted server for that user or applications
.
Load Balancing - Logon load balancing increases efficiency with respect to performance and the use of system resources for variously defined workgroups by distributing users across available application servers based on requirements for workgroup service and utilization.
In a system landscape where there are multiple application server instances, specific servers are best assigned to a particular application workgroup, with the available resources and buffers of that server tuned specifically to that application and not shared with other applications. This is highlighted in the following sections:
Hope this will help you.

Hi,
R\3 dedicated system
R\3 dedicated system means what are the user requests comming from the presentation layer it will go to that particular R\3 system only.(if the work processes free dispatcher will assign the workprocess other wise request will be in the dispatcher queue it won't look for other system)
R\3 load balancing system
R\3 load balancing system means message server take action here.User requests comming from the presentation layer and it goes to messagese service looks the which dispatcher is having free work processesdepending on availabulity of workprocesses message server will send the request to free dispatcher.
i think it will help for u.any queries post
