Hi,

your current liveCache 7.6.00 Build 29 installation does not seem to be correct, three packages were invalid, according to the 'sdbregview -l' output.

I'm wondering if your livecache LCS has worked normally at all so far, or is it a brand new installation?

Currently, I'd suggest to reinstall (using SDBUPD and should that fail, SDBINST) the liveCache using the exact same (as current) liveCache 7.6.00 Build 29 software. Please make sure you really use the exact same package (probably either LC760029A5006_0-10003393.SAR (SAP LC/LCAPPS 5.0 SP06) or LC760029A5007_0-10003393.SAR (SAP LC/LCAPPS 5.0 SP07)).

Please issue both previously mentioned commands ('sdbreview -l' and 'ls -la /sapdb/LCS/db/sap') after reinstalling the liveCache package and show me the output.

Regards,

Roland

The reinstall is failing with the error below :

Hi,

I see you already performed an upgrade to the newest available build (7.6.01 Build 05).

Does your liveCache LCS run okay now?

The permission problem in /sapdb/LCS/db/lib/lib64 can really only be caused by a manual intervention, because the SDBUPD or SDBINST programs set the permissions correctly.

---

I'm still wondering if your liveCache LCS worked at all before you got the first problem after your first upgrade attempt.

Kind regards,

Roland

Yes, I've initialized livecache with LC10 and also T_CODE /sapapo/OM13 works fine ..

I'm still getting an error that RFC to client 001 doesn't exist .. I read a note that there is a way to deactivtae clinet 001..

Before this live cache didn't work propoerly at all.. All I could do was start & stop.. ? /SAPAPO/OM13 didn't work earlier ..

The install is performed by root and the files in the lib directory are set to r_xr_x___ with owner sdb and group sdba. Root wasn't able to access the files as root is not in the group "sdba". When I changed them to r_xr_xr_x.. it all worked fine ..

Thank you for all the help ..

Hi,

just for your information: please make sure you always use transaction LC10 to start/stop your liveCache instance.

Roland

Hi,

hm, this does look weird.

First of all, should your LCS instance be a liveCache instance or an OLPT instance? Currently, I'd say it (= the instance type) is set to 'liveCache', but you chose to upgrade using an OLTP package, instead of using a liveCache upgrade package.

Please let me know if LCS is supposed to be a liveCache or OLTP instance. In both cases, changes are necessary.

Hi again,

can you please send me the complete upgrade protocol file (from your /sapdb/data/wrk directory) per email?

You can find my emailaddress on my SDN business card.
