Hi friends I am new to SAP and today our SAP team is going to upgrade SAP patches .We have Oracle 10g R2 database.
Will you pls tell me what I have to take care /prepare for the support side at Oracle database as I am Oracle DBA .
Thanks
Hi,
First of all, take full offline backup of your database with SAP tools.
Then ugrade the kernel to latest available.
Upgrade SPAM with latest SPAM update.
Download all the SP-stacks you want to import.
Check side-effects reports for these stacks.
Check related SAP notes for pre/post installation extra actions if any.
Import the support packages in one queue as far as possible.
Monitor the tablespace growth during import.
Take offline backup again after successful import.

Hi Raj,
You mean SAP support packs ? If yes you have to upgrade SAP kernel to the latest level before doing the Support packs ( atleast tp and R3trans should be the latest version ) . From oracle side I dont see any thing. Hope you have applied all optches suggested by SAP for 10.2.0.2.
Thanks
Prince Jose
