Hi,
we have a issue with FILE Adapter During FTP->XI->CRM(Idoc) scenario.
When the FILE adapter is in ACTIVE state, there seems to be erratic
behaviour, that is all the files are not being picked by the adapter.
We can see the audit log for these files that were not picked as
follows.
I have attached a docment for the screens from Recovered Adapter Audit
log from the
link 'http://sappx9.ra.rockwell.com:53000/MessagingSystem/monitor'.
In one of these message ids there is a warning like
'Channel FILE_PEOPLESOFT_PRICING_Send: Empty document found. Proceed
without sending message'.
The files that were placee were not empty and had 5000 records in each.
The different symptoms that we experieced with the adapter when it is
continuesly in ACTIVE state are as follows.
1) we see only few XML messages in XI, not equal to all the files in
FTP.
2) Even for those files that were picked up, we dont see same no. of
IDOCs in CRM, for example a file that had 5000 records only 366 idocs
were created.
3) The polling interval is set 120 secs, with this we expect the files
should not get pickup until the next interval as specified in the
adatper. But our observation was all files were immediately disappear
as stage them in FTP source location.
But when i make the adapter INACTIVE and stage the files into
corresponding FTP location of same adapter, the files reamin in the FTP
location, now when i make the adapter ACTIVE the files are picked up
immediately and everthing works fine, where we see same no of XML
messages in XI as no of files in FTP also the correct no. of IDOCs get
created in CRM system.
In our testing process, we have also verified our quality enviroment,
which is working very much fine in two instances of ACTIVE and
INACTIVE adapters. And there is no difference between configurations,
service packs(SP16).
The solutions we are looking out are the following.
1) Why is the adapter not picking/delivering all files into XI, when
the adapter is continuesly in ACTIVE state.
2) Even for those few picked files, why are we seeing less no. of Idocs
than the file contents.
3) Why is the adapter always picking files immediately even if a poll
interval is set.
4) When the adapter is INACTIVE, when the files are placed and again
made active, How is it working fine?
Can some body help me out with this.
Best Regards,
Jilan
Hi,
>>2) Even for those few picked files, why are we seeing less no. of Idocs
than the file contents.
Check the mapping by using the payload from SXMB_MONI. I think the mapping is not correct.
>>3) Why is the adapter always picking files immediately even if a poll
interval is set.
Once the objects are activated in ID the channel picks the file immediately and then it waits for the polling interval and repeats the process.

Hi Jai Shankar,

For the above 3rd issue, the adapter is not waiting till the poll interval, instead it picks the files as soon as i place the files into FTP. Do i need to do any spl. settings apart from mentioning poll intervals.

No. File adapter polling is based on this parameter. What might happened is you might have specified a low value in polling interval and placed the file just before the polling interval starts. Try with some large values like 300(remember it is in seconds) and check your scenario.

Jai Shankar
