RFC adapter could be used for both sync and async communication.
The quality of service (to simplify let's say sync or async) depends by the way the message is received by the adapter. if it receives an asynch call all the flow will be async, if it receives a sync call the interface will be synch, this means that the same interface could be once sync and once async depending on how it is called.
