Difference between NW2004s SR1 and SR2

Hello,

Sandbox systems were installed with NW2004S SR1 DVDs UDB V8 and NW2004S SR2 is released now. Planning to use UDB V9 along with NW2004S SR1. Is there any difference between using NW2004S SR1 DVDs vs NW2004S SR2 DVDs for UDB V9?

Want to save time in not downloading SR2 if there is no difference except SR1 puts the system at SPS 6 and SR2 puts that system at SPS 9.

Saw AIX JVM settings are different for NW2004S SR1 vs SR2 in SAP note 1008311 which talks about adding some JVM parameters for SR2 and was wondering if there are more differences?

Hi Mark

Basically there is hardly any difference .NW04S _SR2 is a new release a newer version.

NW04S _SR1 if you will install the SPlevel will be 6

In case of NW04S _SR2 the SP level is 9.

Its just a strategy followed by sap.After the release of certain sp stacks they will release a new service release.A complete installation set.

One more information i would like to share that in NW04S _SR2 MSSQL 2005 is very well supported.
