Hi Guys;
Thanks for your replies.
I posted this as new thread rather than a new question ,so I am not getting the points radio buttons. But I have noted all of ur User ids and would give you more points when I post a new question ,maybe today also.
Sorry for the inconvenience, But I will make up for it.
Thanks

Hi ,
For the ALE process steps you need do the following:
1) Creating the Logical System in Application Server(trnx SALE).
2)Assigning the Clients to the Logical systems(Trnx SALE).
3) Create a distribution model for the IDOC(trnx BD64)
4)Create an RFC desination for the XI(trnx SM59).
5)Create a tRFC port (trnx WE21).
6)Create partner profile (trnx WE20).
After configuring these steps in Application server, follow the below weblog for the Configuration in XI(Integration Server).

Follow the below Blog for trouble shooting Of ALE Process

Hope it helps.

Not a presentation,
but I think you should be able to manage the concept expressed here: /people/raja.thangamani/blog/2007/07/19/troubleshooting-of-ale-process
Hope it helps (and good luck!)

Hi,
IDocs are the form of data that are transferred between systems, whereas SAP XI is the transportation system used to pass this data. XI is an Integration broker.
ALE is point to point mainly used for integrating SAP systems and capable of creating a dialogue only between a pair of systems, but SAP XI is capable of involving many systems at the same time. ALE does not support open standards like Webservices etc.

Hi,
For ALE/IDoc there is nothing called from perspective of SAP XI.
For just SAP XI and SAP connectivity for the IDoc transport, you can use the following links:

This is perhaps the best and quickest introduction to ALE with IDocs.
http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/CABFAALEQS/CABFAALEQS.pdf
It's been around for a while, and is very excellent.
Hi XI fan,
the document from Harrison gives you a good overview of ALE and IDOC, the link I gave you is a good starting point for troubleshooting.
I do not think you can simplify this more. If you have specific questions/doubts on this I suggest you to open a new thread specifing what in particular you want to know about ALE/IDOCs.
Best Regards,
Sergio
I don't know of any simpler guides than the one I linked above, but check out this book, it's the best:
Hi,
First of all read help:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/dc/6b828943d711d1893e0000e8323c4f/frameset.htm
as a fast reference for IDOC you can buy this book:
http://www.sappress.com/product.cfm?account=&product=H1935
and of course the best one is
In my opinion in this tread you've got enough information.

Wojciech
