When will J5EE be supported for production use?

I am interested in upgrading the app server to Java 5. Has SAP released a supported version for this? If not, what is the time plan for it?

Hi Emil,

a supported version of the Java EE 5 app server should be released sometime next year (2007).

See the <a href="http://www.sap.com/company/press/press.epx?pressid=6705">press release</a> that announced the product, which would include the Java EE 5 app server.

The production appserver for jee 5 is already released. and u can get it from SAP.

Appserver9 from Sun also support jee 5

Hi,

the product will be called SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment and will go into ramp up soon. The plan is to release it later this year. I cannot give you details but lets say it won't happen before summer...
