Hi all,

I am an ABAP programmer and i am trying to learn XI.

From my understanding i have to come to know that JAVA is used to add more functionality , when we are mapping.

Can you please tell me how much of JAVA should i be familiar?

Do I have to learn in depth or will it work with basic understanding.

Thanks a lot

Appreciate your answers

Deepthi

Deepthi,

Java knowledge will be useful in following aspects.

1. Java Mapping.

2. Custom Adapter Module Development.

3. In User Defined Function of graphical Mapping.

I hope u can start with basic level and sure u can feel comfortable as u get familiarised.

Hi Deepthi,

Since you are an ABAper, you can start exploring XI. Of course SDN has a plethora of information on XI. Use them to your best. As you told, you need JAVA <b>to add more functionality</b> to your mapping. SO I would recommend you start learning XI. If you have a basic understanding of core JAVA, you can develop the User Defined Functions which will give you the added functionality.
