APO to BW

Hi Friends,

I am new to APO. Is there any scenario or situation where we need to push data from APO to BW? Is there any transaction in APO that is used for this purpose?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Nathan.

Hi Nathan,

APO has the entire BW component which is primarily used by APO-Demand Planning. While reporting is possible within APO-BW, organisations might like to allow reporting from their Enterprise BW system only. In such cases transaction data from APO is to be extracted from liveCache or relevant Infoproviders to BW.

Transactions in APO are same as in BW - RSA1 works in APO.

Please take a look at <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/8f/9d6937089c2556e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm">help</a>

Hope this helps.

Hi,

What are all the key transactions in APO? Is there any document that lists out these transactions with their functionalities?

Thanks in advance.

Nathan.

Hi Nathan,

You can check the data into the BW cube as well as APO cube by RSA1 transaction and you can check the data into planning book(live cache) in DP whether it is uploaded properly or not through interactive demand planning(sapapo/sdp94-transaction).

RSA1 - The Administrator Workbench is the tool for controlling, monitoring and maintaining all of the processes connected with data staging and processing in the Business Information Warehouse.

LISTCUBE - I use this transaction simply for viewing. It provides an easy-to-use method of selecting criteria and display profiles.

Hi,

Please check the SAP notes "507810". This one describes the step by step procedure.

Hi,

Will there be any necessity to integrate APO with portal? If so in what way it will be useful?

Nathan.

Yes. You can have your Planning book/Dataview accessible via portal. We use similar setup for CPFR process. (ie DP book shared via portal for external partners)
