Hi there

I have sap netweaver(ABAB) trial edition , VS2003 and SAP .net connector 2.0 installed in a win2k3 VPC, now when i try to create a web app which could talk to SAP netweaver, the server explorer doesnt show or connect to the SAP instance running in the VPC.(in the list of providers i see only SAP BW oledb provider, shouldnt i also be seeing the sap .net connector there)

ignoring the above fact and when i try to create a .net connector class i am not getting a wizard as it explains in the tutorial, what am i doing wrong

help appreciated

thanks

ananth

Hi Ananth,

a few preliminary checks:

1> you have performed the 'add server' function

2> your connection details are vaild

for verification please post the connection details.

a pervious post on connection strings

Amit - I was trying the Add connection function in the server explorer(VS2003)and it opens up a Data link dialog, in the dialog i choose SAP BW Ole DB provider(i was expecting SAP .net provider to be here) and in the connection tab i entered the following and the rest are blank

data source - localhost

username - DDIC (also tried BCUSER)

password - minisap

and then clicking on the test connection button throws the following error

Error Group

RFC_ERROR_PROGRAM

Message

Ent

Hi Ananth,

How are you doing ?

when you open server explorer, you should see the option :: SAP, under which you should get another option 'Application Servers'

if you do not get these, your NCo installation is not as it should be.

Would recommend uninstall & reinstall due to insufficient options.

amit
