Kernel Upgrade

Hi,

I want to upgrade my kernel which is now (640 / AIX 1 / 87). Please let

me know how to upgrade the same & also send me the link to download

from the market place. Presently we are using (AIX 5.3 / Orcale)

Hi

You can download the kernel from market place use below path

<b>service.sap.com/swdc --> Downloads -->Support Packages and Patches --> Additional Components --> SAP Kernel</b>

After downloading the kernel it will be in the .sar formet try to uncar the fileusing command in the cmd field

<b>sapcar -xvf <file name></b>

After uncar u will get all exe files in current directory and change the run dir name to old run.

Create new run dir and copy what are the exe files is available cuurent dir.

To download ref note 19466.To find guides to can trail through installation and upgrade guides.Or u can search for sap notes for specific document for ur evironment.

Hi,

First stop all the services/applications those are running in the server. Then rename the old kernel -> upload the new kernel -> untar the tar file and finally restart the system.
