Error while trying to use NWDI

Hi Folks

I am trying to use NWDI for developing Guided Procedures Distributed component.

When I click File -> New -> Development Component-> Next -> Choose Software Component -> Next -> Specify a Vendor name and DC Name -> Do Next

I get this error

Syntax of 'mycompany/abcd' is not valid: Invalid name; On this server no names of category SAP_DevelopmentComponentName are allowed at all

Any pointers to a possible resolution are highly appreciated.

My Studio version is 7.0.09

And Portal version is 7.00 SP8

Hi,

we had the same problem for a while.

I try and try but this error comes every time. But: One day later it works and i think we have do nothing for that. Only thing is that we have restartet local pc and / or server.

Try to start your local pc for complete (not only server nodes) and / or server, which has to do with that (like SLD, CBS, CMSetc.). Maybe it helps.

We work with NW 04 SP21 and NWDS 2...

For some things we have problem with we restartet the pc and / or server and after that it works... maybe not the best solution, but it helps us serveral times...
