Hi,
When we try to check the TP tools through STMS. It shows that database connect
failed.
On running the TP connect <SID> pf=...., command through the command
line,it also fails.
The 'TP' cannot connect to the database. I have applied the newest
TP available on the SAP service marketplace.
Our System details are as below.
OS - Windows 2003
Database - SQL 2000
SAP Version - 40B
Kernel Version - 40B_EXTN
We have installed this SAP version because we would like to upgrade our
SAP version from 4.0B to ECC 6.0
The error on the running the command is shown as below.

did you run transaction SE06 after you installed your sap system? what about implementing the tms on your system using transaction STMS?

Hi Greetz,
I have run the transaction SE06 and have already configured the STMS in client 000 through user DDIC.
But on checking the Transport tool through STMS,evrything seems to be fine and ok except for the message "Link to Database failed".
Then I tried to connect the Database through the Tp command, but it also failed.
The R3trans -d command is successful.

Hi,
Check SAP Notes for Kernel upgrade procedure for SAP and MSSQL installations.
I recollect something like
Deleting the automatically generated stored procedures. Execute the following SQL statements:
o use <SAPSID> go
sap_droproc
Also i recollect one more thing.
use SE38 transaction and execute a report called 'MSSPROCS' , this will regenerate the MSSQL Procedures for proper use.
Ensure that you backup your database before doing the above things, cause right now i do not have a proof statement that they will work.

Hi
I think u did not configure the STMS in 000 client after installtion SAP in your system.
Configuring Transport Management System
Logon to 000 client of R/3 system which, is to be designated as Transport Domain Controller.
The TMS enables system administrators and technical consultants centrally manage the transport configuration of multiple R/3 systems.
Transport domain: All R/3 Systems that are planned to manage centrally using TMS form a transport domain.
Transport Domain controller: The R/3 System with the reference configuration is called as the transport domain controller. And all R/3 systems hold copies of this reference configuration.
RFC are generated when TMS is configured for R/3 systems to communicate with all R/3 systems in a domain.
