Hi all !

I have installed Minisap 2004S on my DELL Notebook under XP(SP2) and IE6 without a single problem as SAP tells !

My steps:

1. Disabled windows firewall

2. Disabled Anti-virus

3. Disabled Firewall of the anti-virus software

It worked fantastically "Made in Germany" and liiterally "Plug & Play fashion !!

wen i try to install everything goes ok but when i start the service through programs>nsp>start application server

database instance starts and abap instance started but an error occurs saying "disp+work.EXE not working send error report or not" even after installing this link http://localhost:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=000 is also not working but logon to database is working good when through i open NSP database it started the logon and in the drivers>etc>host file

there is a line 127.0.0.1 localhost

so i must add my host below this line or just edit this line like 10.10.0.10 localhost

thanx in advance

I think it's network issue as you are using Windows please make sure your windows 2003 server is DNS configured. If not you have to install and configure Microsoft Loop Back adaper (It would at least loop back to the same server like virtual DNS). You also enter c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts

<Your ipaddress> < Your hostname>

i.e 192.11.1.12 mypc

If you still have problem please let us know.

Hi,

I have successfully installed the local SAP Version and MaxDB. I successfully start the application server. When I try to Logon to NSP local I receive a message

partner '127.0.0.1:sapdb00' not reached

WSAECONNREFUSED: Connection refused.

What could be causing the logon to fail?

I got the following steps 4rm d forum, but it proves abortive

1.go to "Start SAP Management Console" on ur desktop or start it from the programs menu under the start button.

2.choose 'SAP systems' there.

3.click on actions from the standard toolbar.

4.go to 'all tasks'.

4.choose 'start'.

now u can start the sap system as normal.

PS : if u are not logged in as administrator this action will ask for the administrator paassword.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Ola

Hello,

I have been trying to install SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.0 for a while.

1.) First on my Windows Vista which caused following error after installation:

============== Stop database failed !

2.) After giving up to install SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.0 on Windows Vista, I am now running Windows XP on VMWare workstation under Windows Vista, which is called virtualization - so actually I am running Windows XP "under" Windows Vista to make installation of SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.0 possible.

And what happened is that after I start running SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.0 installer following message pops up:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:run Exception in thread "main"

This message pops up not only under virtual Windows XP, but also under Windows Vista.

Can someone please help with this ??

I would REALLY APPRECIATE THAT.

Thanks.

The service name is invalid (NET HELPMSG 2185)

Hi!

I tried to install the SAP Netweaver 2004s ABAP Trial Version on my PC (Vista).

I went through the steps:

1) Install SAP Management Console (sapmmc\sapmmcX86u.msi)

2) Start the Installer (image\setup.exe)

3) Start Application Server by selecting Start Application Server

So far so good.

I even could start the application server via http://localhost:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=000. And use SAP.

Then I got on with Getting Started and installed SAP GUI.

They recommended me to stop the application server thru

Start u2013> Programs u2013> SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version u2013> NSP u2013> Stop Application Server

This is where the trouble started.

Since this point I get the following error everytime I try to start or stop the application server thru

Start u2013> Programs u2013> SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version u2013> NSP:

============================= Starting database instance ...

After this I couldn't start the application server anymore via:

Hi Guido,

I have the same problem.

After installing the application server and SAP management konsole and stopping the application server following message pops up. The same message pops up after installing SAP GUI and starting the application server again.

Can this be caused by bad installation of MS Loopback Adapter on my Windows Vista?

I tried to install MS Loopback Adapter onto my Windows Vista as described below, but I am not sure whether it was succesful as I am lacking expertise in this field.

Maybe it can be caused by not well working MS Loopback Adapter, what do you think, has anyone given you an advice on this?

Please see how I installed MS Loopback Adapter:

Download the DevCon compressed file, and then extract the files:

a. Visit the following Microsoft Web site for download: DevCon

b. Save the Devcon.exe file to a folder on your computer, and then open the folder.

c. Double-click Devcon.exe.

d. In the Unzip to path box, type the folder where you want to unzip the files, and then click Unzip.

e. Click OK, and then Close to complete the unzip process.

2. Install the Microsoft Loopback Adapter:

a. At a command prompt, change directory to the folder where you extracted the DevCon files.

b. Change directory to the i386 folder.

c. Type devcon.exe install %windir%inf

etloop.inf *msloop, and then press ENTER. You see output that is similar to the following:

Device node created. Install is complete when drivers are updated...

Updating drivers for *msloop from C:WINDOWSinf

etloop.inf.

Drivers updated successfully.

Thanks a lot

Milan.

Hello Manfred,

I am hoping you can help. I have installed the Netweaver version 7.00 successfully (or so I thought) on my Machine. I can start and view the database in the DBM. But when I stop the database instance in DBM, then try to start the application, the message server starts, the DB starts, but the task disp+work cannot connect to the database. I get this error in the console log:

Communications Data:service initialization failed

then:

SAP Basis System: Initialization: DB-Connect Failed, Return Code 008192

several times

I cannot find any reason for this.

Can anyone help please????

thanks

Hello,

everything went fine, but when i am trying to create a new program (as BCUSER, System ist licensed) i need an access key for the developer BCUSER.

After searching this forum and not finding anything, i decided to ask here, if somebody maybe knows a solution.

With best regards,

Mathias

Hello Mathias,

the name of your object has to beginn with the letter Z or Y. Look at the note

16466 in the SAP Service Marketplace.

hi,

i do not know whether it is the right place but i want to write my problem.

i have installed sap nw 2004 abap trial version. and i have started the server. but my work process do not work. in sapmmc, i clicked on the abap wp node and only a dia work process seems to be working(it says yes) and all other seem not to be working(it says no for all). i tried to restart the server again and agin but there is nothing changed

an other problem that i think it is caused by the first problem is that

when i try to save or run my program it returns the error: "no update server found for context :e:". i searched for this string on the forums but there is nothing. also i asked in a new topic but there is no reply. my abap learning journey seems to be blocked for some time.

may it be about my max db server. do i have to start it before start to develop programs ??

thanks for all the advises

Dear reader,

re: Netweaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version dumps on CL_TREE_MODEL

This dump occurs whenever a tree gets refreshed, either manually (button on application toolbar) or adding an object (even to favourites).

Note 1094266 offers a correction to object R3TR CLAS CL_RSAWBN_SER_FAVORITES, but how do we register an object on OSS for DEMOSYSTEM (to obtain the access key)?

This severly limits the usefulness of the Trial Version since no objects can be created.

Thank you

i attempted now twice to reinstall the nw2004s trial that came with the abap objects book.

the maxdb + nw installation was "successful" depending on ones definition of a success.

1. anyway, when i look for the c:\sapdb folder - does not exist?

2 ..also was not able to find the saplicense.exe executable?

From these forums, the approach taken by many is a "trial and error" to get the trials working

May be SAP should rename the trial to "SAP NetWeaver 2004 ABAP Trial and Error Version" since SAP's support w.r.t. trial installation & troubleshooting can best be described in 1 word = MEDIOCRE.

This stuff is giving so much trouble to install for so many. We cannot all be stupid.

I purchased the most recent ABAP Objects book from SAP Press and installation failed using the CD that came w/the book. First w/some 601 error and now I am getting (while preparing the [java] virtual machine) "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: run Exception in thread "main" after doing all the clean up garbage suggested. I do not have 3200/3600/8000 entries in the services' file, I have a hosts' file w/a loopback adapter, un-installed the software, erased left over files/directories, removed the SAP directory in the common installs area, ran the clean-up of the registry, rebooted the machine.

Any suggestions?

Is the CD a worthless version?

Does one need a certain Java level?

The trouble shooting guide linked in this topic was of no help to me.

Hello,

I would suggest, to try installing the latest version, which can be found at:https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/webcontent/uuid/b2918eea-0601-0010-6284-e6cb7eee4399 [original link is broken] [original link is broken]

All the examples from the ABAP Objects book are included in the new version as well. You don't need a Java installation for installing the preview system.

Kind regards,

Klaus

I did as you suggested and tried installing the newest version. Same bad result. I checked the byte sizes of both files and they were correct after download. I followed all the suggestions for Loopback Adapter, wiping previous installations of all SAP installations, setting services and hosts' files etc. I have installed mini SAP versions many times on many computers w/o many problems. Does this version actually work anywhere with Windows XP Professional, service pack two?

'log.txt' error messages follow (they are incoherent to me) maybe they will shed some light.

I finally got the trial version installed.

LOTS of stars had to align for me for this version to work. To wit,

JAVA_HOME and SAPINST_JRE_HOME environment varibles needed to point to the java sdk and java jre respectively.

If there was one failure there is no clean-up of "C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield", one must do that manually. Likewise for the trial's working directory (default "C:\SAP").

One has to run the clean up tool referenced on the CD's htm file.

One has to stop the SAPNSP_00 service.

One has to (possibly) uninstall the MaxDB.

The error file 'log.txt' contains verbose gobbly gook error messages that did not indicate the above. W/o this forum and a bunch of trial and error it would not have worked.

Basically, lots of little hand jobs needed to be done if it does not work the first time through.

Hi Charles,

I agree with you completely. I am sick of all of this install-unistall-reinstall attemps. The link https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/6055f523-df6e-2910-f0bf-acccbb0a7d37

does not says anything new at all.

I got the same two errors (both refering STACK_TRACE: 15 issues) like you.

What did exactly you do/check?

I am about to discard all of this and delete it all...

A LOT OF THANKS in advance.

José Gabriel.

Hello Michael,

Yes, security software may cause problems, for sure. In my case, I late discovered that I have a Pointsec security software installed and running (hidden) on my laptop, it was the origin of problems. So, I temporaly turn it off, installed the ABAP trial, and everything was OK.

This information (about firewalls/security software) is contained in the documentation. So, you should have to temporaly disconnect all of it.

Regards,

José Gabriel.

Short text

Database inconsistency: Start Transaction SICK.

-

-

What happened?

The current program had to be terminated because of an

error when installing the R/3 System.

The error occurred when initializing the R/3 System.

-

-

-

What can you do?

Please call the Transaction SICK. The list generated here

contains an installation error.

Note which actions and input led to the error.

For further help in handling the problem, contact your SAP administrator

.

You can use the ABAP dump analysis transaction ST22 to view and manage

termination messages, in particular for long term reference.

-

-

Error analysis

The error probably occurred when installing the

R/3 system.

Error text of the first reported error:

"OS release Windows NT 6.0 6000 2x Intel 80686 (Mod 15 Step 6) is not supported

with this kernel (700)".

-

-

How to correct the error

Report the error to the group responsible for installing your

R/3 System.

If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to

find an interim solution in an SAP Note.

If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following

keywords:

"START_CALL_SICK" " "

"SAPMSYST" or "SAPMSYST"

"D020_SNC_CHECK_EXTID"

If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error

notification to SAP, include the following information:

1. The description of the current problem (short dump)

To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File

(Unconverted)".

2. Corresponding system log

Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.

Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes

after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File

(Unconverted)".

3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP

program: The source code of the program

In the editor, choose "Utilities->More

Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".

4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which

actions and input led to the error.

I have checked out the document for troubleshooting the installation of the trial version and still having problems. Could it be my windows ' version? I am installing on windows Vista..

Hi Patrick,

SAP NetWeaver ABAP trials are not released for Windows Vista and it will not work. Check the requirements in the HTML pages included in the download package.

One thing you can do is to create a virutal box on your system and install Windows XP or Windows Server 2003.

Regards,

Klaus

Hello,

I am having an incredibly difficult time installing this trial. I was attempting to install SP8 and it would not install. I downloaded the new SP12 files and it still fails. Is there no SP12 troubleshooting guide? PLEASE guide me through this installation. Im attaching the installation log below.

Thanks,

Matt

Hello Matt,

Perhaps you should copy the install files to another folder:

STDOUT: callers working directory: C:/Documents and Settings/まと/My Documents/Downloads/Compressed/SAPNW7.0ABAPTrialSP12/SAPNW7.0ABAPTrialSP12/image
..............................................................^ What is this?

Check also the available disk space.

Klaus

Hi Matt,

The following can solve your problem:

Start/Run... Type regedit and delete the followings:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP folder

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\SERVICESS\SAP *

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\SERVICESS\XSERVER

Delete Xserver and all folder starting with SAP (like SAP DBtech....)

You may also delete: sapdb folder from where you installed it, on C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Universal\SAP folder.

Reboot system and install again.

If you have problems check Start/Run... type services.msc.

Here SAPNSP_00 and MAXDB: NSP has to be set to Automatic and has to be started.

Hope I could help.
