Hi,
Can we use new Database ID and SAP System ID if we implement OS/DB migration. Is there any implication for doing so?
For example, I upgrade database from Oracle 8.0 to Oracle 8.1.7, and OS from Windows NT to Windows 2003. (I'm aware that Oracle 8.1.7 does not supported in Windows 2003).
SAP remains 4.6C SR2.
Appreciate any advice. Thank you.

yes, you can! that's one of the ideas when making a system copy...you can switch, you can use your old ids, whatever you want! be sure to follow the guides for homogeneous/heterogeneous system copy!
